Hold on to your hat, dear Libra. With two major eclipses due to soon hit the top and bottom houses of your chart, you are about to see some massive changes at home and in your career. If you are honest with yourself, you will admit that you feel you've come to master your present life just fine and you are up for a new adventure. You need change, and that's precisely what the universe is about to bring you.
To put what is coming in context, a new family of eclipses is just starting up this month in the signs of Cancer and Capricorn. You haven't seen eclipses in these signs since 2000 and 2001, and prior to that, in 1991 and 1992. Once a new set of eclipses starts up, you will see eclipses in these signs visit you every six months. They always come in pairs, always falling on a new moon and full moon. This period is unusual in that we will have a lunar eclipse in Cancer on July 7, a solar eclipse in Capricorn July 21, and a final eclipse in the family of signs that is now finishing, Leo-Aquarius. That final eclipse will fall in Aquarius as a full moon lunar eclipse on August 5.
It's very unusual to see two families of eclipses overlap, but that will happen in the coming weeks. Once we get past August 5 next month, there will be no more eclipses in Leo-Aquarius, so we will go back to the more typical twin events. (I will discuss the August 5 eclipse next month in detail.)
After this, the next set of eclipses will come on December 31, 2009, in Cancer, highlighting your career, and then a solar eclipse, January 15, 2010, in Capricorn, accenting your home again. Each eclipse will occur in different mathematical degrees and will highlight various Libra birthdays.
If you were born October 7 or within five days of this date, you will feel the July 7 eclipse in a powerful way.
If your birthday falls closer to October 22, plus or minus five days, you will feel the July 22 eclipse in a powerful way.
I have just outlined facts, but there is much more to eclipses than just the dates they arrive. They are, quite simply, the most powerful cosmic tools the universe uses to move us forward. Ready or not, here they come. They uproot us and push us and prod us out of our comfort zones. If we feel we don't have time, we don't have enough money, we are not ready yet, or for any other reason we feel we can't meet the challenges the universe presents, we find that we do succeed, despite our initial doubts. Later we see the changes wrought were for the best. To stay in your present same-old pattern would not bring you any personal growth.
The first eclipse on July 7 will bring a full moon lunar eclipse to your fourth house, bringing a surprise development concerning a home or family matter or in regard to a pending real estate deal. A full moon always brings a finish. This, being a full moon lunar eclipse, suggests that a female who is attached to your household - a roommate, housekeeper, nanny, or your mother or other female relative - may be leaving or moving away. This is a positive eclipse, for Saturn will be extremely comforting and supportive, ensuring whatever changes you make now will be in place a long time.
Pluto, now in your fourth house of home, will oppose Mercury at the time of this eclipse on July 7, so someone connected with your home may pressure you to agree to something or sign something, but you seem not to want to do so. This person could be a broker, contractor, or landlord, for example. I am not sure you can find a way to avoid this issue, however, but if this is a legal issue, you may want to consult a lawyer to explore your options.
There are other ways this lunar eclipse July 7 may affect you. You may need to clear out a space - yours or that of a parent - perhaps because you or your parent is moving, or because you may be doing a refurbishing or reconstruction project. This process of clearing out possessions may make you sentimental as you prepare for the next chapter of your life. That's normal, dear Libra, but unless you do clear out the past you can't get ready for the future. I know, sometimes knowing this doesn't really help very much. You will be quite happy again after this process is completed, so keep that in mind.
Elsewhere in your chart, during the first part of July, Mars will put a strong emphasis on your finances in your eighth house of other people's money, credit, taxes, and other such funds. This trend started in late April and has continued through May, so you probably have been spending more lately. Even if you wanted to cut down on your spending, it appeared you weren't too successful at holding the line. Don't worry, however, because this expensive phase is due to end after July 11.
The presence of Mars in your eighth house may have other manifestations. If you are self-employed, you may be pitching investors for another round of financing or asking the bank for a larger line of credit. Or, if you are a student, you may be looking for financial aid through your college or employer. If you need money to fund your home-related project, you may be looking for a home improvement loan, mortgage, or refinancing plan. You get the idea. This is the house where we go for large sums of money to fund big plans.
If this applies to you, this phase will come to an end July 11, the date Mars will move out of your eighth house. Hurry to conclude all your financial planning and fundraising during the early part of July, for if you do, you are likely to get what you want! Why am I so optimistic about the outcome? I will show you now.
Venus will follow Mars closely during most of July, so your sheer charm could be why you will be able to get a "yes" so quickly and easily. You will find that Venus will allow you to find the right words to persuade others to help you, just when you need money most. Venus is your ruling planet and also the planet that is associated with money and profits, so her conversations with other planets "count" quite a bit. This month Venus works closely with Mars and will help you find the money you need to cover those high expenses.
You will receive a lot of good financial assistance from Mars and Uranus too, specifically (and coincidentally) on the same day as the eclipse, July 7. This day is quite fortunate for gaining a bit of money. If you find you're in the mood to buy a scratch-off lotto ticket, do so just for fun. When it comes to money, you will have the lucky touch on this day. I am not sure if your bundle of cash will be earned, given, loaned, or won. It does look like at least a small amount will find its way to your door near July 7.
If home or family occupies your thinking the first half of the month, then career will be all your focus in the second half. The solar eclipse, July 21, will open a new chapter of professional growth. It will be up to you to follow up on leads that arise that this eclipse.
Last month you had a new moon in the same area of your chart on June 22, the tenth house of honors, achievement, and fame. If you had an interesting conversation about a new position, or were pitching a new client, or had other fascinating career developments last month, you will be able to bring talks to a new level this month. It's unusual to have two new moons in a row falling in the same part of the chart, but that's what we have here. To have one new moon be a solar eclipse is even more unusual. This is good news, because if you are serious about changing your job, this solar eclipse will open a path. Solar eclipses are quite exciting!
Along with other changes you may make on the job, there will be other shifts taking place around you. A high level boss, most likely a male, may announce that he's leaving the firm, much to everyone's amazement. This will be someone you report to, not a co-worker, and someone you probably thought was a permanent fixture of the company. This person may leave on his own volition or will be forced out. Your job could easily change as a result. You may be wondering why I say this will be a "male." An eclipse of the Sun always points to a masculine person, and because this eclipse is happening in your tenth house of fame and career status, it would be an authority figure at your office who will be "eclipsed out" of your life.
As I mentioned before, the eclipses in July will be remarkably positive. At the July 21 eclipse, Uranus will be at your side, helping you every step of the way. (Uranus can be the bad boy who all too often spoils the pudding, but this month, he'll be your best buddy. Be grateful!) The job of Uranus will be to bring up sudden, surprising news. This month the news is much more likely to bring exciting opportunity than not.
It looks as though one of your friends will be instrumental in your success, and I say this because the Sun rules your eleventh house of friendship. Someone you know may give you a tip that leads you to a stunning opportunity. If you belong to a club, this group may also be helpful. Even if you find you are forced to look for a job this month (and I am not saying that will be the case, but if this is true for you), don't bemoan your situation - the universe will be doing you a favor. You are moving toward a much better situation.
If you would love to find a new position, but find that things don't click fast enough for you, keep in mind that this is a new trend that will be getting stronger as you go along this year.
First, I would like you to watch the days when Mars will orbit over the precise mathematical degrees of the eclipse, plus or minus one degree:
Watch September 19 - 22 for home, family, or other property news.
Watch October 12 - 18 for career developments that are quite exciting.
There will be still more opportunities for change. This new family of eclipses that will start up now will continue until July 2011. They will arrive every six months, and the next ones are due December 31 of this year (highlighting your career) and January 15, 2010 (accenting your home and family). More are due later next year, June 26 and July 11, 2010, but those will be not as gentle as the earlier ones.
This means that if you don't change jobs now, you will have chances to do so in the coming two years. I haven't studied all the eclipses in this two-year period, but it does appear that the handwriting is on the wall. You will be changing your position sooner or later, or, if self-employed, the nature of your business will evolve rapidly into something more sophisticated. By the end of two years, your working life will look different.
Eclipses are famous for uprooting us out of ingrained, established patterns. They never let us go backward, so if you find you don't like the changes you make this year, you won't be able to go backward, but you will be able to make more changes ahead. You are ready for what is coming, dear Libra.
It's best if you initiate the changes. Changes emanating from within you are often more organic, stemming from dreams and wishes that reside deep inside you. Having said that, I will admit that sometimes interesting offers do stem from the outside, too. They send us down new paths, ones that we would never investigate any other way and they help us develop latent talents. So actually, the more I think about it, all sorts of changes, no matter where they emanate from, are valuable. Fortunately you are a cardinal air sign, so you are one to embrace all that is new. Good, dear Libra!
Travel could be on the agenda for you this month, but you'll have to play things by ear. With so much about to happen at home and work, it might not be wise to be away on holiday, especially near the eclipses July 7 and 21. If you already have a vacation planned, be sure to leave phone numbers with your friends and relatives before you go so they'll know where you'll be, and let your favorite co-workers know, too. You'll want to keep an eye on what's happening at the office and in regard to home and family as well.
Mars will allow you to travel quite a bit from July 12 to August 25, so you'll have plenty of time to relax and have fun. You'll also find that your expenses will drop dramatically by mid-July and that alone will put you more at ease. Moreover, as a Libra, you are an air sign, and Mars will be in air sign Gemini, so overall, you'll get more support from others (without having to push so hard) and in general, you'll feel that the world is a friendlier place. You'll appreciate this, for sure!
This same trend, to be initiated by Mars from mid-July to the end of August, will help you get new assignments in the publishing and broadcasting industries, as well as in teaching, public relations, library science, and with those based overseas. If you are a professional in one of these areas, your timing will be perfect to investigate job opportunities, or, if you like your present job, to suggest bold initiatives. If you work in a creative field, you are a rapidly becoming a dynamo of ideas and few can keep up with you. Stick to your guns when it comes to a creative direction you feel is right - you are on the right track, absolutely!
One more thought - if you want to go back to college or graduate school or take a few classes or seminars in July and August, it's a very good idea and will likely to translate into profits in time.
Romantically, you have a lot to look forward to this month. First, Venus will soon move into Gemini, an excellent place for Venus to be for you, and that will happen from July 5 to 31. During this time, find ways to improve your looks - you'll love your new hairstyle, brand new clothes, and, if you are a woman, new makeup. If you want to treat yourself to a massage or facial, this would be the time to do so. Venus in Gemini will enhance your charm and magnetism. And because Mars will be in Gemini too (after July 12), you really do have an amazing advantage over many other signs!
There will be some days that will really stand out for romance, and it doesn't matter if you are attached or single - every Libra will have fun.
First, Friday, July 10, brings the second of three legendary meetings of 2009 of Jupiter and Neptune. This is a highly romantic vibration and you first experienced it on May 27. It will occur, as said, on July 10 and one more time on December 21. After that, these two planets will shake hands and wave goodbye, not to meet again until 2022. Jupiter will see to it that short, quick weekend travel to nearby places will increase feelings of love - keep that thought in mind.
The weekend of July 18-19 should be stellar, what with the moon in Gemini on Friday night and all day Saturday, and the Sun getting golden beams from surprise-a-minute Uranus. Wow!
Other outstanding days for romance will fall on Sunday, July 26, thanks to Venus in perfect angle to Jupiter, and Monday, July 27, thanks to a similar conversation with Neptune. This would be a great four-day holiday if you can get the time off work, July 25-28. During part of that time, you will also have the moon in Libra. Some people have all the luck!

Home or family-related changes will surprise you July 7. Career opportunities will break open in a big way after the solar eclipse July 21 - you may be stunned with all that comes up. During the coming two years, everyday life will start to look and feel very different as you begin to transform your professional and home life, in dramatic ways. You are at the very first step of an exciting journey.
You've been concerned about the high spending you've had to do lately, but relax. Those monster expenses will simmer down once Mars moves out of your financial house on July 11. From then on, Mars will tour a sweeter, softer place in your chart, and overall, you'll feel happier and bouncier. Investigate travel packages and fares for the coming two months - a certain travel bargain will attract your eye. August would be a better time to go, for you have so much going on at home in early July and in your career in late July. If you do need a rest, opt for a long weekend to a beautiful place close to home, and choose to take it over the weekend of July 25-28.
If you simply can't get away, then take a vacation of the mind. Join a book club or sign up for a course on a subject you've always wanted to learn. Italian? Thai cooking? Or how about studying up on great philosophers of the world? Learning is fun, and this month the world is your oyster.
