This month will bring important changes to your finances. A new family of eclipses is starting this month, in Capricorn and Cancer, and both signs hold sway over your money houses. All sorts of questions will start to be put under the microscope, from how you earn your money, to how you save it and spend it. We have not had eclipses in these signs since 2000 and 2001, so this influence will be fairly new. Let's have a look, but first I'll give you more information about eclipses in general.
Each year we typically have four eclipses (two solar and two lunar eclipses) but in 2009, we have no less than six, and three of them are due between July 7 and August 5. Eclipses are the most important indicator of where dramatic change will lie in a coming year.
For you, much of the emphasis will be on finances. This new trend will be apparent in the second half of 2009, all through 2010, and in the first half of 2011. It is quite unusual for half the year's eclipses to occur in one little stretch of time - within a six-week period - but that happens when one family of eclipses is ending and new one is starting. Four of the six eclipses will be lunar eclipses, known to close chapters. Solar eclipses - and we have two this year - tend to do the opposite, as they open up new opportunities and are generally very exciting.
The new family of eclipses that is just starting up will be in Capricorn on July 7 and in Cancer July 21. The third one, in Aquarius on August 5, will mark the last eclipse in a long two-year series. The new series that are starting this month will arrive every six months for two years, and will help you strengthen, reinvent, and transform your financial situation.
We will talk about the August 5 eclipse next month, but it will have to do with travel and contractual agreements, and it's due to be favorable, so you have no reason to feel anxious. Let's look closely at the ones that will be upon us within days.
The first eclipse this month will be a full moon lunar eclipse to arrive July 7. This will bring a major culmination of a money matter. You may be ready to write a check or make an important purchase, such as for a house, a car, or for something intangible like to pay for tuition for college or a long-dreamed of trip.
Alternatively, you may hear back about a salary negotiation if you have been interviewing for a new job. Often at eclipse time one source of income will end and another will begin, so that may be the case for you. Often they do happen at the same time, but not always. Should you lose a financial source but not see a new one on the horizon, don't panic. You will find it, and it will be better than the one you lost.
I want to assure you that I do not necessarily see you losing your job. The new source of income could mean something as simple as a new company merging with your present company and that you will see a new name across the top of your paycheck - technically you will now work for a "new" company even though you haven't even left your desk.
Of course, these are dark days for some companies, and many people are being downsized. If you should have no income for a while, don't panic. The universe has something better in mind for you. The only way to get your better salary will be to leave your old job. In other words, you needed to create a space for the universe to fill. As someone once said to me, God doesn't go through the trouble of creating a tree and not water it. You represent years of knowledge and experience. Once you package it properly, you will do very, very well.
By all means, if you do lose a source of income, search for a new one. In order to get what you need, it is always important to show the universe a clear indication of your intent. While it is possible your phone will ring with a fabulous offer you had not sought, in astrology we never depend on these lovely things happening. Be out there looking!
The fact that this month's eclipse is involved with financial developments suggests that whatever is going on is very important, because life decisions and actions usually accompany eclipses. With Saturn being very friendly to this full moon eclipse July 7, it shows that the steps you take, deals you make, and the new income you generate will allow you to create a very stable financial base. This is why I am not worried one bit about you!
At the very same time this eclipse is happening, Pluto will oppose Mercury, so you may have to deal with a pushy person who has a scorched earth method of negotiation - "It's got to be my way, or else!" At that time you will have to decide if you really want this job under any circumstances. If you feel pushed to the wall, break the stream of talks and say you need time to think. Do not be pressured to finalize things that day. Even one evening's time, enough to sleep on the deal, could be enough to help you come up with a breakthrough idea that no one thought of before. Some points matter and others may seem less important to you - you may be able to win a concession on a point that the other side doesn't care about, but one that is quite valuable to you. That's why you need to look at all the details closely. Be practical, too - planets in Capricorn will demand that!
Lunar eclipses are always full moons - that's what we have coming July 7 - and they tend to stir up emotions, dreams, and memories. Solar eclipses like the one July 21 are always new moons and promote a more objective response. Those solar eclipses tend to help us begin a brand new chapter. They often bring up completely unexpected opportunities that turn out to be quite exciting. You still have to search for those offers, but when they come, it may feel like you found diamonds on the sidewalk!
Look back to 1991 and 1992 to see if you can pinpoint any major financial themes that came up at that time. (Of course, you need to be old enough to have lived through that period and remember it, too!) Those years held a series of eclipses in Cancer and Capricorn too, and these are almost identical in mathematical degree to the ones we will have this year. We also had Cancer and Capricorn eclipses in 2000- 2002, but the earlier group of eclipses of 1991-1992 had greater similarity to the coming eclipses.
On your job, with Mars having been moving through your workaday sector since the start of June, no doubt you've been working very hard. The need to keep your nose to the grindstone will continue during the start of July, but only until July 11, at which time the pressure will begin to lift almost immediately. You will like the change, for you'll be able to finally exhale. You'll also be able to manage your workload more effectively.
The full moon July 7 could bring thrilling news of a new job or a new assignment. That would make sense, for this eclipse is all about your ability to earn more money in your paycheck. Mars will be in perfect angle to Uranus, and because Uranus is in your house of home, you may be able to do your work out of a home office. This might be a one-shot assignment but it would pay nicely, and it might allow you to do more of the same in the future. The level of the job will be very similar to what you've done before, and not bring more responsibility, but that may be fine with you, considering the state of the economy. Watch July 7 carefully and add a plus or minus of five days for news of this new job.
Let's go back to this month's eclipses by turning to the second one, the solar eclipse of July 21. This eclipse will fall in Cancer at 29 degrees. It will light your eighth house of other people's money, so if you are looking for funding, say, in terms of a scholarship, venture capital, line of credit, bank loan, mortgage, refinancing plan, or other such funding, you may get very encouraging news at this time.
Other types of money may be up for discussion: inheritance, grants, court settlements, insurance payouts, division of property in a divorce, the creation of an IPO, royalties, licensing fees, factoring, tax refunds, bonuses, pensions, perks, or company benefits. This is a new moon eclipse (with the power of three new moons rolled into one), so see July 21 as the opening of a door, not a finish. Still, there will be some news that will make you sit up and take notice. You may have begun talks on the subject of money last month, but if so, talks now will reach a new stage.
Fortunately, this eclipse is about to receive a dazzling beam from Uranus, the planet of surprise. Any surprise you get should be one that makes you want to dance on the tables, and it seems you will be close to finding the money you need. In fact, this month you may even get it. If not, there will be more eclipses at year's end.
A man near you may leave your life near the July 21 eclipse, as he may be "eclipsed out" of your everyday environment. With this person's departure, there could be positive financial implications for you.
The eighth house is also the house of surgery and other medical procedures, for the eighth house rules transformations and healing. Occasionally news of a necessary surgery will come up with an eclipse in this house (or in the opposite house, which will be the case July 7). If this should prove true for you, view this eclipse as your friend, for it will be trying to help you quickly address your health situation. Do your research, talk to a number of medical professionals, and if necessary, have additional tests done. If your doctor recommends surgery, and you have faith in your doctor, then do it - get the healing process started. You are fortunate in that this particular new moon eclipse is so friendly. Uranus will be helping you every step of the way, and that could mean a new scientific discovery will be instrumental in your healing.
There is some indication that some Sagittarians may have been interacting with medical personnel quite a bit in June due to the position of Mars. If this was true for you, I feel you are nearing the end of this strong emphasis on health and doctors, even if you were doing so because you have been helping a friend or relative with their health concern. As soon as you reach the second half of July, this emphasis on health will simmer down. If you feel fine, you may have been working hard on a fitness routine - early July will be the perfect time to keep the focus you started in June.
Your home situation has been a bit unstable for a long time, but this month you will experience a few happy home-related surprises. Mark down the period from July 16 to July 19 as excellent for solving a home-related question or for finding superb options you really like.
Romantically, Venus' move into Gemini, in your seventh house of relationships from July 5 to 31, will be a wonderful turn of events to boost feelings of love. Venus will bring you a chance for much more quality time with your one-and-only sweetheart or spouse. Mars will have already arrived in this same house of committed relationships, and will join Venus to cook up lots of sizzling evenings for the two of you. Mars will tour your partnership sector from July 12 until August 26. This is just fantastic. You'll have time to reconnect and enjoy each other. In fact, with plenty of time to share your dreams, you may want to draw up plans to work on one important new goal together.
Having Mars and Venus orbiting not far from one another is considered a very sexy, alluring vibration! The fact that it will take place in your relationship house gives it gold-star status for romance. Attached or dating Sagittarians will benefit most this month, so if you do have someone you are enthusiastic about in your life, this will be your banner month!
Single Sagittarians will find that July 7 could bring on quite an electric meeting. You will have a lot going on that day, but if you have the energy to go out for drinks, a party, mixer, or date that evening, do!
Other sweet days for fun and love include the weekend of July 16-18, perfect for giving a party at home.
If you feel like traveling to a beautiful town nearby to either meet new possible romantic interests or to enjoy someone you love, go on Friday, July 10, to Sunday, July 12. With Jupiter and Neptune orbiting in conjunction, the accommodations should be sensational and the conversation that ensues, inspiring.
The last week of the month, July 26-31, would be a perfect time for a vacation with someone you love. With Venus watching over you and beaming rays to both Jupiter and Neptune, you'll enjoy every minute of your time together.
Romance will be best on July 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 17-18, 25-26, 27, and 30-31.
Summary
July's start will bring a hectic office schedule. You've been handling quite a heavy workload since last month, and the pressure to get things done on time has not abated. Still, you are handling things well. Keep up gym visits - you need physical activity to reduce stress.
Life will take on a glow once Mars moves into Gemini from July 11 to August 26, allowing you more time to enjoy your partner. This month Venus will tour your relationship area, adding her gifts of charm and beauty - the events you attend should be quite luxurious in July's second half. Having fun with your partner will draw you closer.
Financial talks will be on the agenda near both eclipses, July 7 and 21, and much to your delight, both will work to fatten your bank account, either immediately, or in time. If anyone seems overly pushy when it comes to getting you to agree to certain terms you find unacceptable in a document negotiation near July 7, break the chain of talks, if only for overnight. In that time you may be able to think of an imaginative solution that had not occurred to you before. If you are not able to get troublesome clauses improved, walk away - there are other fish in the sea.
Dates to Note:
Work hard in the office during first half of July, knowing the second half will be easier and more fun, especially if you have a significant other.
If you write for a living, the vibrations from Jupiter and Neptune on July 10, plus or minus seven days, will be outstanding for creating imaginative, moving, and emotional prose - that sells.
Finances are due to improve in July, but it appears you will have to trade one source of income for another in the days that surround July 7, the full moon lunar eclipse. Still, in time you'll come out ahead.
News about money or bargains will also be upbeat from July 15-17.
A domestic situation has been volatile, but will bring you sudden news you can use to your advantage July 16, 18, and 22.
Travel for fun and love over the weekend of July 25. With Venus in perfect angle to Jupiter, you'll enjoy every minute of it.
On the solar eclipse, July 21, you can find a chunk of cash, say, in the form of a mortgage, scholarship, or through venture capital, bank loan, or line of credit. It may be an inheritance, severance, insurance payment, and other such money that would fall under "other people's money." This area glitters for you, so it appears you will get the money you need to fund a dream.
Romance will be best on July 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 17-18, 25-26, 27, and 30-31.
